I wanted the connection bar, but I didn't want it at the same time. I'm not sure why it HAS to be docked to the top of the screen. It can't float, it can't be moved to the sides or bottom of the screen, it can't be set to auto hide and it's always in the way. Browser tabs are always at the top of their respective windows as well, so when I full screen chrome or edge, I'm constantly sliding the bar to the left and the right to get it out of the way of my tabs. There's an RDP setting for getting rid of it, so that's your only option right now until Microsoft fixes the problem. You just have to uncheck a box in the Display tab.
That's a good question. I asked that question every time I considered unchecking that box and then changed my mind and left it as is. Once that annoying bar is gone, you'll be cheering... right up until you want to get back to your local Desktop. At that point, you'll be glad you found this site. Here are your options...
CTRL-ALT-HOME
This key combo will make the bar show up again briefly (about 5 seconds or so). Then you can do whatever you want... minimize, close, etc.
CTRL-ALT-BREAK
This combo will take you right back to your local PC Desktop.
